Nashville, TN (April 16, 2012) – The Co-founder of Render Records Steve Freeman has announced the signing of Jason Charles Miller to the label’s Nashville division.
Now, after more than a decade as frontman of the internationally acclaimed rock band Godhead, Jason Charles Miller has signed with Render Records and is rediscovering his past as he moves boldly into his future as a solo artist, exploring his Virginia roots, stripping his music to its core, and paying homage to the artists that touch his life and the art that shapes his soul with his first release on Render Records due out in May. The lead off single “Up To Me” will ship to country radio on May 1.
Miller is most widely recognized as the frontman of the rock band Godhead, the only band ever signed to Marilyn Manson’s Posthuman Records. The band has sold more than 200,000 albums, and toured the world with the likes of Manson, Ozzy Osbourne, Disturbed, Slipknot, Rammstein and Korn frontman Jonathan Davis. Godhead received a gold record for their song “Penetrate” on the Queen of the Damned movie soundtrack, and Jason was awarded a second gold record for the song “The End Has Come,” which he wrote with Evanescence founder Ben Moody for the movie The Punisher. Jason’s music has also been featured in HBO’s widely popular shows True Blood and Hung.
“Jason is no stranger to success or the hard work it takes to achieve it. As unique as he is, I know that Jason will fit right in with the rest of our artist roster. His music is groundbreaking, the second I heard it I not only wanted him on the label, but I became a fan. He knows who he is as an artist and his music reflects his passion and understanding of the country format and its diverse audience. When I look at our roster, I see different pieces of a puzzle that come together and make an amazing portrait. Not having Jason would leave us without a crucial piece of that puzzle. I am excited to have him join us at Render and help us complete our music masterpiece” says Render Records Co-Founder Steve Freeman.
Miller, living in the shadows of Hollywood has made his southern disposition shine. Splitting time between Los Angeles and Nashville, his love for country and blues has intensified, as has the influence of those that have defined his music roots: Johnny Cash, Neil Young, Kris Kristofferson, Merle Haggard, Fleetwood Mac, Bad Company…
“It has been exciting to work with an artist who is successfully crossing genres, backed by a long time fan base. Jason is a unique talent with great drive and determination and backed by Render Records, an innovator in their field, he will surely garner success.” -Dan Hodges -Co-Producer and Nashville rep for Miller’s administrator, The Bicycle Music Company.
Jason has been featured in magazines such as Rolling Stone, Billboard, Guitar World and many more. He’s also appeared on MTV, MTV2, Fuse and VH1. Touted by many critics as one of rock’s best and most consistent live singers, Jason continues to wow live audiences all over the world.
